Christmas Weddings in London & Chic Styling Tips for a Christmas Wedding
Hello and welcome to the most magical time of the year. We’re stepping into one of my favourite times of the year, the festive season.
There’s something so special about celebrating your wedding during the holiday season. It feels such a romantic time of the year with soft twinkling lights, candlelit dinners, evergreen textures, romantic floral designs, and that cosy feel that only December can bring. Christmas weddings are full of atmosphere, an atmosphere that feels immersive and incredibly romantic.
If you’re planning a destination wedding in the UK or simply adore the idea of a London wedding at Christmas, this blog is your ultimate guide to styling a chic and modern Christmas wedding. Plus, I’ll be sharing inspiration from an elegant wedding at One Moorgate Place in London and a elegant and romantic engagement session at Four Seasons London.
Christmas Weddings in London
There’s nothing quite like London during the festive season. The city transforms into a world of sparkling lights, lavish hotel displays, rich textures, and atmospheric spaces perfect for winter weddings. London at Christmas just feels effortless. Why couples love a Christmas London wedding:
Ambience - Iconic hotels and historic venues are already beautifully decorated, meaning your wedding design starts with the most luxurious foundation.
Romantic lighting - Candlelight and winter interiors can be incredibly beautiful, they create instant intimacy.
Statement florals - Christmas wedding flowers will always be a favourite. With rich greenery, soft whites, velvety textures, and modern accents that feel both seasonal and timeless.
An unforgettable guest experience - London at Christmas is a full sensory experience. The festive markets, glittering streets, incredible restaurants, and cosy winter moments.
London is one of the most sought-after cities for destination weddings in the UK, and it’s easy to see why.
How to Style a Christmas Wedding
A festive celebration doesn’t have to mean red and gold everything. In fact, some of the most sophisticated Christmas weddings lean towards modern palettes, refined greenery, and texture-led florals that feel high-end. Here’s how we approach designing elegant, modern Christmas wedding florals:
Christmas styling is all about dimension. Winter lends itself beautifully to fresh evergreens, soft ruscus and deep foliage, white and ivory florals, seasonal berries and fruits, winter roses, velvet ribbons and subtle metallic accents.
Some of our favourite Christmas wedding colour palettes are:
White + deep green + soft gold
Champagne + ivory + warm candlelight
Frosted winter blues + soft neutrals
Modern winter monochrome
A textured palette keeps your look elegant, refined, and perfectly suited to London’s luxurious winter interiors. A top tip is to choose two hero colours and build depth through foliage and lighting. For an elevated wedding look add in mixed materials such as velvet napkins, gold cutlery and frosted glass votives.
A Christmas Wedding at One Moorgate Place
One Moorgate Place is one of London’s most timeless winter wedding venues. It feels atmospheric, intimate, and rich with historic charm. For this December wedding we added lots of whites, winter greens and soft candlelight. Calley and Orestis wanted everything to feel modern, fresh and beautifully refined. This wasn’t traditional Christmas décor, it was a winter editorial moment.
The bride carried an all-white bouquet filled with soft white florals, romantic roses, and subtle hints of seasonal greenery. Textural, airy, and beautifully sculpted, it was the perfect modern winter bouquet.
For the ceremony, we created a stunning setting with real Christmas trees dressed in warm lights and decorated with delicate white blooms. The space felt romantic and serene.
Later, the room was transformed for the wedding breakfast. Round tables were styled with lush greenery and candlelight, creating a warm, intimate glow. Guests were welcomed with chic monochrome place settings tied with a velvet bow. A small detail that added charm, elegance, and a hint of festive luxury. We added some key floral arrangements of lush illustrations with white cloud like florals, and LED candles.
If your wedding venue already offers festive décor, let your wedding florist elevate it rather than compete with it.
A Beautiful Engagement Session at Four Seasons London
Few places embrace Christmas quite like the Four Seasons London. Their festive installations are always breathtaking, and for an engagement shoot or intimate elopement, the hotel creates the perfect backdrop.
We styled with the venue’s existing décor, allowing its luxury Christmas aesthetic to shine. These stylish couple portraits were incredibly beautiful with an editorial finish, cinematic photography and a style that feels unmistakably London.
The couple made the most of the hotel’s elegant Christmas décor, using the sparkling trees, warm ambient lighting, and refined festive touches as the perfect backdrop for their photos.
Lauren opted for a classic all-white bridal bouquet. A beautiful mix of soft white florals that felt timeless, elegant, and undeniably romantic. It’s the perfect bouquet style for a Christmas wedding. A bouquet that feels wintery without being too traditional, and effortlessly chic in every setting.
Top Tips for Styling a Christmas Wedding
Embrace Candlelight. Winter weddings need the perfect lighting. Add lots of candles at different heights, glass hurricanes and small tea lights for a layered glow to elevate your design.
Choose Seasonal Florals. Winter brings beautiful varieties. Our favourite winter wedding flowers include amaryllis, roses, tulips, ranunculus, hellebores, and luxe greenery.
Work With the Venue’s Festive Decor. Luxury London Hotels including Claridge’s, The Ned, The Dorchester and Rosewood London go all out for Christmas. Use your venues Christmas decorations to your advantage.
Add Personalised Winter Touches. Bespoke festive menus, velvet ribbons, handwritten place cards, winter cocktails, and cosy textures.
