Kin House is one of those wedding venues that we could happily return to time and time again. Set in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, it's a truly special setting for a luxury UK wedding. Kin House's beauty lies in its many spaces, beautiful interiors, and endless opportunities to create something a little different with your wedding flowers.
We've been lucky enough to work at Kin House on several occasions, and one thing we love most is that no two weddings ever need to look the same. From the colour palette and floral installations to the way each space is styled, there's so much potential to make your wedding feel completely personal.
We’re excited to share Sandy and Chris’s wedding, a wonderful example of how much you can make the most of this beautiful UK wedding venue.
With a colour palette of berry tones, soft neutrals and deep reds, the overall feel was richer and moodier, but still full of romance. We worked with an incredible team of wedding vendors to bring Sandy and Chris’s vision to life. Read on to see more of Sandy and Chris’s Kin House wedding and take a closer look at the floral details we created throughout the day.
Romantic Bridal Look & White Bridal Flowers
Sandy looked absolutely beautiful in her lace Galia Lahav bridal dress. We wanted the bridal flowers to complement her look while keeping the design soft, elegant and romantic.
Her bridal bouquet featured beautiful white and cream flowers, with a little movement and texture to keep the design feeling modern yet whimsical. The bridesmaids carried smaller bridal bouquets, while classic buttonholes (or boutonnieres, for our American friends!) completed the look for Chris and his groomsmen.
We always love seeing how the bridal flowers work alongside the dresses. The simplicity of the all-white flowers felt particularly beautiful against the richer tones introduced throughout the rest of the celebrations.
A Romantic Wedding Ceremony at Kin House
For the ceremony, we kept the floral design focused on whites, creams and lush greenery, creating a look that felt romantic and timeless.
Hosted in the beautiful Hearth Room, we wanted the flowers to enhance the space without taking away from the surroundings. We created a series of lush floral and greenery designs, including beautiful trees that brought height, texture and a lovely sense of scale to the room. Along the aisle, the greenery created a natural flow towards the ceremony focal point, where a larger statement floral arrangement framed the area where Sandy and Chris exchanged their vows.
There is something about bringing trees and abundant greenery indoors that we absolutely love. They add so much depth to a room and create a softer, more organic feeling, particularly when paired with beautiful white and cream flowers.
It was a gorgeous setting for the couple to say their vows, with the ceremony design setting the tone for everything that followed.
A Colourful Wedding Breakfast
Following the cocktail hour, guests made their way into the Kilvert Room for the wedding breakfast, and this is where we really got to play with the space.
One of the things we loved about this design was the room layout. Rather than having all the tables arranged in the traditional format, we worked with a combination of long tables and round tables, positioned around the central dance floor.
We're always big fans of mixing table shapes where the room allows. It creates a little more movement, adds dimension and makes the overall layout feel much more considered. It also gives the room a lovely sense of occasion, particularly when you're working with a larger space.
The colour palette also took on a slightly different feel here. While the flowers remained beautifully soft, we introduced berry tones and deeper reds through the reception styling. The marble-patterned dance floor and lush deep red napkins brought a pop of colour to the room.
One of our biggest wedding flower tips is to think about contrast. Introducing deeper colours through your tablescape, linens or styling details can add depth and bring the whole look together, while still keeping the overall feel romantic and considered.
The Hanging Tulip Installation
This was definitely one of our favourite elements of this luxurious wedding at Kin House.
Positioned directly above the dance floor, we created an incredible suspended floral installation featuring hundreds of upside-down white tulips. We wanted this floral installation to feel abundant but still elegant, allowing the tulips to create their own movement and texture above the space. Keeping the arrangement entirely white also gave it a beautiful contrast against the richer reds and marble-patterned dance floor below.
Rather than simply decorating the dance floor, the installation became a real architectural feature within the Kilvert Room. It drew everyone's attention upwards and created a completely different perspective of the room.
It also gave Sandy and Chris the most beautiful backdrop for their photographs, particularly during their first dance. Watching them celebrate underneath hundreds of hanging white tulips was such a lovely moment, and exactly why we love creating larger-scale floral installations.
It's also a great example of how you can use the existing architecture and proportions of a wedding venue to create something that feels unique. At Kin House, there are so many opportunities to do this, and the ceiling space in the Kilvert Room was just perfect for this particular design.
Epic Colourful Wedding Party
Of course, the wedding celebrations didn't stop there!
For Sandy and Chris, the evening party was all about creating a much more vibrant nightclub-inspired atmosphere.
Guests were welcomed into a completely different setting, with lush deep red draping, endless disco balls and a really cool party aesthetic. The rich red tones carried through from the wedding breakfast styling, but with a much bolder, more dramatic feel. It was such a contrast to the all-white flowers earlier in the day, and we loved seeing the change in atmosphere.
There's no reason your wedding needs to have exactly the same look and feel from the ceremony through to the evening. In fact, we love seeing couples embrace different elements of their personality and create a few surprises for their guests along the way. And this was certainly one of them!
The Dream Wedding Team
We were so lucky to work alongside such a talented team of UK wedding vendors. When you're bringing together different spaces, large-scale floral installations and a full day of events, having a brilliant team working towards the same vision makes all the difference.
To Sandy and Chris, thank you so much for trusting The Way to Bloom with your wedding flowers.
